Gone Camping: St. Louis Rams

Other than Minnesota Vikings superstar running back Adrian Peterson, there may be no other player in the National Football League that has more nicknames associated with him than St. Louis Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein (ZOO-uhr-line).  It’s for good reason as well, as “Greg The Leg” (Nickname No. 1) burst onto the professional football scene in 2012 by making his first 15 career NFL field goal attempts, and he made seven field goals from at least 50 yards on the year.

A Lot Of Sports Talk caught up with “Legatron” (2) at Rams camp in Earth City, MO, and we discussed topics ranging from when he first started taking up placekicking to the longest field goal he has ever made, regardless of whether it was during a regulation game…and believe me, it’s a LONG one!

Also, “Young GZ” (3) talks about the current buzz at Rams camp after the team’s promising 2012 campaign (7-8-1), as well as spending time in the city of St. Louis and how it compares to his Midwestern roots.

Stay tuned for more NFL preseason coverage on A Lot Of Sports Talk, and watch for our preview and predictions on the NFC West – and every other division – starting next week.
