PHILADELPHIA — For most of the 48 hours between Game 3 and Game 4, Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown maintained that the key to his team somehow pulling off one of the few impossibilities remaining in NBA annals, a best-of-seven series victory after losing the first three games, his team had to make sure to maintain their energy and
have the right spirit.

In other words, the Philadelphia 76ers needed more of T.J. McConnell.

After the Sixers faithful heard one of their favorites be announced during the starting lineups, they almost all in unison ended up chanting “T-J!, T-J!” by the time he came out of the game for the final time, with McConnell’s first-ever postseason starting assignment resulting in career-high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists in a 103-92 victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals at Wells Fargo Center on Monday night.

Updates to the story, including quotes from McConnell, Brown and others, coming up shortly…
