Golden State of Mind (audio)

Curry:  23.0 pts, 6.9 asts, 45.5% 3PT
CSN Bay Area analyst Jim Barnett

On the verge of participating in the NBA Playoffs for only the third time in the last 20 seasons, the Golden State Warriors caught many by surprise and engineered the second-biggest turnaround in the league from last season in terms of winning percentage. For insomniac East Coast NBA fans fairly unfamiliar with the 2012-13 edition of the W’s, A Lot Of Sports Talk interviewed Jim Barnett, an 11-year NBA player (former teammates list include HOFs Bill Russell, John Havlicek, Rick Barry, Nate Thurmond, Walt Frazier and Dr. J) and current long-time color commentator on Warriors games on television and radio. A true basketball “gym rat,” Barnett and I discussed how Mark Jackson’s second season on The Bay has become a rousing success, Stephen Curry’s ascension into an All-NBA player, the legacy of Kobe Bryant and playing basketball and staying active well into his 60s. It was as insightful of an interview as I’ve ever had the joy to be a part of, so hope you enjoy the basketball education.
