NEW YORK — One half of the schools that gave launch to the national obsession that is college football took part in the contest marking the sport’s sesquicentennial on Saturday afternoon, but it was another history-making university that spoiled the party while keeping their pursuit of gridiron immortality intact.

Dartmouth quarterback Jared Gerbino rushed for two touchdowns and the Big Green defense forced three first-half turnovers on their way to a 27-10 victory over Princeton in a match-up of two of the three remaining unbeaten teams in the Football Championship Subdivision going into this week’s games.
