EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Add a misheard instruction to the lore of one of the great rivalries in sport — a mistake that turned into, arguably, Navy’s best play of their entire 2021 season.

Linebacker Diego Fagot converted on a fake punt by running for four yards during the first drive of the fourth quarter, leading to a field goal that capped the Midshipmen’s 17-13 over Army during the 122nd edition of the Army-Navy game at MetLife Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Navy’s defense sealed the win holding the Black Knights to just 57 total yards in the second half.
