Football Fix- Dallas Cowboys

After signing a 6-year, $108 million extension, Romo and the Cowboys need to extend their 2013 campaign into the postseason – and beyond. (Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

We are exactly one week away from the commencement of the first full weekend of the NFL regular season, and we decided this week to talk about America’s national passion while focusing on America’s Team. The Dallas Cowboys, despite their enormous talent, come into this season with so many questions in 2013. Fortunately for us, Kristi Scales, one of the voices of the Dallas Cowboys – and one most knowledgeable people we have ever talked football with – joined us on A Lot Of Sports Talk to answer almost every question we had about the Cowboys and their prospects this season.

Obviously, Tony Romo – and his health after surgery to remove a cyst on his back in the offseason – was a main talking point, but almost every single position on the field was covered in our in-depth interview, including how the defense is adjusting to new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and his Tampa 2 defense. Also, we asked Scales how it is like for her to be a prominent female voice in a sport and its journalists being dominated by men. As we said, no stone was left unturned in our conversation.

Enjoy the interview, and stay tuned for our NFL division-by-division previews, which will start being unveiled to all of the masses on Monday.
