After a bye week in which we rested and iced our nagging injuries, A Lot of Sports Talk’s newest podcast, Down and Distance, is back as we take a look at Week Seven in the National Football League. Our hosts this week are, once again, Adesina O. Koiki and Holly Culbertson, and the first down segment explores how much of a contender the Cleveland Browns are in terms of making a playoff push in the AFC. We also discuss whether the Seattle Seahawks are showing frailties after their home loss to the Dallas Cowboys last week, as well as the behind-the-scenes infighting that led to Seattle trading Percy Harvin to the New York Jets this week.
On second down, we catch up with New York Giants linebacker Jon Beason, a former Pro Bowler back during his time with the Carolina Panthers. Beason, who just came back from a toe injury last week, was featured in a recent Wall Street Journal article chronicling his complex recovery regimen for his toe ailment. Our interview will let you in on how he’s feeling going into Sunday’s game against Dallas, how the mood in the locker room is after losing Victor Cruz to a season-ending injury last Sunday night and which Barclays Premier League team he supports.
Third down brings a preview of seven big games in the NFL on Sunday and Monday, including San Francisco going on the road to take on the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. Fourth down sees Holly wrestle with a hypothetical scenario centering around the Browns’ upcoming schedule of games in the next few weeks and whether they can handle the expectations of winning.
