UNCASVILLE, Conn. — The sputtering beginning to last season, which was the low point in what was otherwise a successful season for the Connecticut Sun in 2017, not only is a distant memory, but something the Sun have made sure not to repeat in continuing its sterling play to begin the new year.

Five players scored in double figures for the Sun as they defeated the Indiana Fever 86-77 to win their third game out of three to start the season. Forward Alyssa Thomas led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting.

Kelsey Mitchell, the second overall pick of the 2018 WNBA draft out of Ohio State finished with her fourth consecutive game scoring in double figures and led the Fever with 18 points, including hitting four of her eight three-point attempts.

Indiana, at 0-5, matched its worst start to a season in franchise history, as it also lost its first five games of the 2001 season.
