NEW YORK \u2014 Since the Creighton Bluejays joined the Big East in the 2013-14 season, only one league school has won more games than the outfit from Omaha. Two years ago, the Blue Jays won a share of the Big East regular-season title and had their best opportunity to win their first Big East Tournament title…and it was scuttled due to COVID-19. On three occasions since joining the league, the Bluejays have made the Big East Tournament championship game, including last season \u2014 and lost all three times.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Can Creighton claim a Big East championship all to themselves? They have one more opportunity tonight.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Greg McDermott’s squad has earned a spot in the Big East Tournament final after wins against No. 4 Marquette and top-seeded Providence, and the only team standing in the way of that elusive title is the team with more wins than Creighton since the Bluejays’ Big East membership started: Villanova. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

You know, the team that has been the big boss man of the league with national titles in 2016 and 2018? It is also the team that has won either the Big East regular-season crown or the conference tournament in every season that Creighton has been a league member.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
