BALTIMORE — Heston Kjerstad came to bat in the fifth inning on Saturday night’s game in a situation that dreams are made of: bases loaded, his team down, and fans at full throat cheering him on and hoping for a big hit.

The reality proved to be even better than the dream.

Kjerstad fourth career home run gave the Orioles the lead in dramatic fashion, as his two-out grand slam propelled the Orioles to a 6-5 victory over the Texas Rangers, Baltimore’s fourth consecutive victory.

“Close game. Sold-out stadium. Bases loaded. Those are the moments you want to be part of,” said Kjerstad, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 draft. “Anytime you can come through for the team and put runs on the board for our pitchers and help win a game, that’s huge. Big time.”
