WASHINGTON — For a couple of hours, the Brooklyn Nets did not give off the appearance of a total, unadulterated dumpster fire of an organization. They won a basketball game they needed to win as they continue to try to save face in a situation where the face of their franchise threw his integrity and that of the team down the darkest of rabbit holes.

Kevin Durant was one rebound away from a triple-double, as he led seven players who scored in double figures for the Brooklyn Nets in a convincing 128-86 victory over the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena on Friday night. The game marked the first game of at least five that Brooklyn will play without the suspended Kyrie Irving, who was disciplined by the team after his public defense of an online post on his Instagram page promoting a documentary that was strewn with antisemitic rhetoric.
