NEWARK, N.J. — In a sense, Devils’ goaltender Cory Schneider had a game of extremes on Monday. On one end, the goal he allowed all the way from center ice on a bad hop off the ice was clearly the nadir. Outside of that gaffe, everything else about Schneider’s game was the antithesis of that error, playing one of the best games he has ever had in a Devils’ uniform.

Schneider rebounded from his error in spectacular fashion, making 45 saves as New Jersey defeated the Buffalo Sabres 3-1 at the Prudential Center on Monday night. Offensively, Pavel Zacha recorded a goal and an assist to help lead the Devils to their second consecutive victory.
