Today marks a historic moment for A Lot of Sports Talk, as we officially launch our podcast network! Staying true to the principles our site was founded on, our weekly podcast will feature a blend of both insight and conversations with pro and collegiate athletes and members of the sports media along with the passionate and knowledgeable analysis of ardent, intelligent fans. It should be a whole lot of fun bringing you shows each week, and you’ll never know who will come on to be our next guest: it could be a professional team’s leading scorer or it could be yourself!

In our maiden voyage today, we are joined by San Francisco Giants fan (and lawyer by day) Elizabeth White as well as Fox Sports West’s Jim Fox, longtime color commentator/broadcaster for the Los Angeles Kings. With the Giants leading the National League West, Elizabeth shares her thoughts on the surprise that is Tim Hudson, which Brandon (Belt or Crawford) she thinks is flashing Hall-of-Fame potential and why she likes “torture” at the hands of the Giants.

Two seasons ago, the Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup behind the stellar play of their defense, anchored by goaltender Jonathan Quick and defenseman Drew Doughty, and Fox talks with us to explain how they might be both playing better than their near impeccable form in 2012, as well as how Marian Gaborik has been such a good fit for the team since being acquired at the deadline from Columbus.

Please enjoy the podcast, and leave us any and all comments that you have. We’ll keep you updated as well on where you can download the podcast from iTunes once the final approval has been stamped to appear on it.
