WASHINGTON — After over a month of experiencing the ugly side of the proverb “when it rains, it pours,” the Washington Mystics are now in the middle of being on the other side of that coin, with their good fortunes continuing on Sunday afternoon.

Five different players scored in double figures for the Mystics, who completed a back-to-back sweep of the Dallas Wings with a 92-84 victory inside Entertainment & Sports Arena. Stefanie Dolson led Washington with 18 points and eight rebounds, including hitting four of her five three-point attempts.

After starting the season by setting a WNBA-record 12 losses in a row to open a campaign, the Mystics have now won four of their last five, with Washington averaging 88 points per game in those contests. Washington has scored at least 83 points in each of their last six games.

Sunday’s contest was more competitive than the Mystics’ 97-69 victory against Dallas on Saturday, when Washington built a 17-point lead by halftime and a 22-point bulge at the end of three quarters. Today, the Wings had a five-point lead at the break before the Mystics exploded for a 29-point third quarter to take control. Washington made 62.5 percent from the field in the frame (10-for-16), including making six of seven shots from three-point range.

Dallas has now lost 11 straight, not recording a victory since winning in Los Angeles back on May 26. Natasha Howard led the Wings with 26 points while Arike Ogunbowale had 23, though she shot just 9-for-21 from the field (She did make five of her 10 threes.)
