BALTIMORE — If Christian Pulisic’s first part of the summer went as well as he would have liked it to go, there would have been more of the same of what he did last night — though there would have also been the chance that he would not have been in uniform on Tuesday night.

The brightest star in the American soccer constellation, Pulisic scored once more on home soil while wearing the colors of AC Milan, who battled to a 2-2 draw with FC Barcelona before losing on penalties in an exhibition match inside M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

Pulisic also scored on home soil during this summer while playing for the United States men’s national team, in a win over Bolivia at the beginning of the Copa America tournament. Unfortunately for the Stars and Stripes, they lost their final two group games of the tournament, including to CONCACAF member Panama, leading the national team to become the first host nation in Copa America history to not advance to the knockout round. That early exit, in part, led Pulisic to be fresh enough to take part in AC Milan’s tour of the United States.

Pulisic did not disappoint the home fans when he scored in the 15th minute to double Milan’s lead, just five minutes after striker Luka Jovic had tallied.

FC Barcelona soon answered, with a Robert Lewandowski goal in the 22nd minute. The Pole then turned in a cross from Pau Victor in the 58th minute to tie the contest with his second goal.

The Blaugrana dominated the game, with 17 shots to Milan’s four, and had six corner kicks while not conceding one.
