WASHINGTON — In getting back to the business of winning, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo could help but have a little fun at the very end of the contest.

Antetokounmpo scored 23 points, dished out 13 assists and intentionally rebounded his intentional miss on a layup to record a triple-double, helping to lead the Bucks to a 117-111 victory over the Washington Wizards on Sunday night. Jevon Carter came off the bench and scored 20 points, nailing six of the Bucks’ 22 threes on the contest. In total, Milwaukee’s bench scored 41 points, making half of those 22 long-range efforts.

“We feel like we’ve got a lot of depth,” Bucks head coach coach Mike Budenholzer, said. “We’ve got a lot of guys that are good shooters that can get hot from the 3-point line. So that’s part of a good team and being able to play on back-to-backs and make it through the season and be prepared for the playoffs.”

The victory came just 24 hours after Milwaukee saw its 16-game winning streak snapped at home at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers on primetime Saturday night. Milwaukee almost let this slip away, squandering a 17-point lead and having to come back in the fourth quarter, making 55 percent from the field in the final stanza while hitting six of 12 from beyond the arc.

With the game finally sealed after Antetokounmpo grabbed his ninth rebound with less than 10 seconds to go, he dribbled to the frountocurt and toward the basket, looking resigned he came up one rebounds shy. From there, he intentionally missed a layup right at the rim, then grabbed the miss right before the the horn.
