ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Just one month into the new college basketball season, the Oregon Ducks are already making history. Given the site and the opponent on Saturday afternoon, the Ducks are planting seeds for what could become a special season on the hardwood.

Ducks Guard Payton Pritchard scored 15 of his team’s final 17 points as the tenth-ranked Ducks came away with a 71-70 overtime win over No. 5 Michigan inside Crisler Center in Ann Arbor.

Anthony Mattis added 19 points as Oregon’s win against the fifth-ranked Wolverines marks the highest-ranked non-conference opponent that the Ducks have ever beaten. Furthermore, it is the third top-15 team that Oregon has defeated this season…and only one full month has been played in the relatively new campaign.

“I thought it was a real high-intensity game.” said Oregon head coach Dana Altman. “Guys fought it off and did just enough to win.”
