WASHINGTON — St. John’s took all of the complications out of a difficult game called basketball in both of their contests this season against Georgetown: so long as you never get behind in the game, the chances of winning said game is guaranteed. In accomplishing that feat tonight, the Red Storm snapped a longstanding hex in the nation’s capital.
Julian Champagnie scored 27 points while adding six rebounds and four assists as St. John’s went on the road and defeated the Georgetown Hoyas 90-77 on Thursday night at McDonough Arena inside of Georgetown’s campus. Four other players scored in double figures for St. John’s as the Red Storm defeated the Hoyas in Washington for the first time since 2003.
