DALLAS — Probably a better sign than the Dallas Stars finding their stride is that one of their one-time leading goal scorer, Jason Robertson, is getting just as hot.
Robertson needed just two periods to score a hat trick as the Stars cruised past the Philadelphia Flyers 5-1 inside American Airlines Center on Saturday evening. Roope Hintz had three assists as Dallas won its fifth straight game.
During the 2022-23 season, Robertson enjoyed a breakout campaign with career highs in goals (46) and points (109), his second consecutive season scoring 40 goals after netting 41 in 2022. Though Robertson followed that career year with 29 and 35 goals in the next two seasons, his points per game went under 1.00 despite being available for all 164 games.
With his hat trick tonight, Robertson now has six goals and three assists during a three-game multipoint streak.
“Maybe I’m shooting the puck a little bit more and being a little bit more assertive on that, but I’ve been getting those chances all season,” Robertson said. “I’m just glad it went in. Obviously, when I get one or two, confidence goes up, shots maybe get a touch harder, a bit more accurate. It’s hockey.”
