DALLAS — It’s just a few weeks after Halloween, but the revenge of the former Dallas Stars reared their heads through the ice of American Airlines Arena to spook the current tenants of their former home — and lift the Colorado Avalanche to an impressive come-from-behind victory.

Former Stars players Valeri Nichiuskin scored the game-winning goal early in the third period, while another former Dallas player, Andrew Cogliano, scored the second of two Colorado goals 11 seconds apart later in the third as the Avalanche scored six unanswered goals to defeat the Stars 6-3 to extend its winning streak to three games. Cale Makar had three assists, becoming the fastest defenseman to record 200 career assists, achieving the feat in his 254th game.
