WASHINGTON — The Minnesota Lynx have no intention of stopping their hot streak and continuing to prove that they are serious contenders for the WNBA championship come October.
Napheesa Collier led five players for the Lynx in double figures with 19 points as Minnesota defeated the Washington Mystics 78-71 inside Entertainment & Sports Arena on Sunday afternoon. After a sluggish first three quarters, the Lynx made 9-of-14 shots from the field in the fourth quarter (64 percent) while making all nine of their free throws as Minnesota won its 10th game in its last 11 contests.
Collier converted a three-point play with 2:37 remaining to give Minnesota the lead for good at 70-67 and, after a couple missed three-pointers and a shot clock violation by the Mystics, Bridget Carleton hit a pull-up jumper to push the lead to five points with 1:25 left.
