ARLINGTON, Texas — After a shuffle in the lineup before today’s game, Texas Rangers rookie center fielder DJ Peters was put in the coveted cleanup spot. In short order, Peters cleaned up to the tune of a career day at the plate as the Rangers won a series against one of the American League’s best teams.
Peters hit two home runs, including a 460-foot upper-deck bomb as part of a three-run first inning, as the Rangers defeated the Oakland Athletics 7-4 to win two out of three in the weekend series. Starting pitcher Kolby Allard pitched into the seventh and allowed three wins to earn his third victory of the season.
