DALLAS — Matt Duchene continued his rich goal-scoring form on Monday night, but in line with the holiday spirit, he ended up deciding that it was better to give than to receive to deliver a dramatic victory.

Duchene scored two goals in regulation before providing the primary assist to Thomas Harley’s overtime winner in the Stars’ 4-3 victory over the Seattle Kraken inside American Airlines Arena. Jason Robertson also scored for the Stars, who possessed a couple of two-goal leads in the game only to see the Kraken come back to force overtime with less than 30 seconds remaining in the third.

Duchene, now on a four-game point streak, has scored at least one goal in three of those four contests after going into that stretch without a goal going back to November 14, a span of 11 games.

“If he hadn’t had the slow start, he might be leading the league in scoring. He’s been that good and consistent,” Stars head coach Pete DeBoer said about Duchene. “Every night he’s bringing it for us, he wants the puck on his stick, and he wants to be a difference maker. He’s just been fantastic.”
