EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Maryland men’s lacrosse team has lived by the mantra “be the best,” and after today’s game, the 2022 edition of the Terrapins can legitimately claim that they’re the best…ever.

Tewaaraton Award winner Logan Wisnauskas amassed four points — two goals and two assists — while sixth-year senior Anthony DeMaio scored a team=high four goals as the top-ranked Terrapins defeated No. 6 Cornell 9-7 to win the D1 lacrosse national championship and finish off a perfect season. Goalie Logan McNaney, winner the 2022 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, made 17 saves for the Terrapins, who became the first D1 team since the 2006 Virginia Cavaliers to finish a season undefeated and became the first D1 team ever to finish a perfect season with 18 victories.
